2007 marked 13 Buddy Walks for the Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization. We continue to spread our message of community awareness as the Buddy Walk grows in supporters each year.  The hugely successful event, attended by over 1500 people, was held Sunday, October 21, 2007 in John Prince Park, Lake Worth.  This year, along with our One-Mile Advocacy walk we added a 5K Fitness Walk.  More families created teams and made banners to show their Buddy Walk spirit and a wonderful time was had by all!

Click here to learn more about the history of the Buddy Walk. Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization held its first Buddy Walk, along with 16 others across the country, in October, 1995 in Haverhill Park as part of our annual picnic celebrating Down Syndrome Awareness Month.  This past year, there were well over 250 Buddy Walks in the United States and around the world.  Thanks to Deeanne, Buddy Walk Chairperson, and our wonderful Buddy Walk committee for a job well done!  We raised over $90,000 to support the projects of our organization.  THANK YOU!
