 The Gold Coast
Down Syndrome Organization Teen Club was first started in 1997
as a way of keeping the families of our teens involved in the
organization...and it worked! A great time was had by all
at this year's Annual Valentines Day Dance where 30 of our teens
joined friends and siblings for an evening of dancing to the
tunes of DJ Byron. Of course they also enjoyed eating the
good food that everyone brought to share. Another big
group (21) joined us for movies and lunch at Muvico in March!
"The Teen Club" includes all teens with Down syndrome who were 13 through 21 in 2008 (young people born in the years 1987 through
1995). The Teen Club has regularly scheduled activities
such as outings to the zoo, bowling, the movies, and dances.
The Teen Club is also a project of the Lake Worth High School
National Honor Society (LWHS NHS).
