2012 marked the 18th Annual Buddy Walk® for the Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization. We continue to spread our message of community awareness as the Buddy Walk® grows in supporters each year. The tremendously successful event, attended by over 2600 people, was held Sunday, October 21st in John Prince Park, Lake Worth and raised $155,000 for local programs. Teams selected our One-Mile Advocacy walk or our 5K Fitness Walk. This year we served breakfast goodies and more teams than ever packed a picnic lunch to enjoy with family and friends. The stage served as our welcome area and entertainment hub. Thank you Frank Harmon and Sue Davis-Killian, emcees of our event. Music provided by Byron Entertainment was enjoyed by all along with the opportunity to bid on amazing silent auction prizes. It was a beautiful South Florida day enjoyed by all. Lots of teams and lots of thoughtfully designed banners showed Buddy Walk® spirit and support! We wish to thank our 2011 Founding Corporate Teams who returned to the Buddy Walk from G4S and Pepsico. This year's beautiful kids banner featured 30 children showcasing their unique interests and accomplishments.
